Tardy Tuesday

I was camping in the middle of nowhere and completely off the grid over the long weekend, so a belated happy Independence Day to all.

Worth it

Moving sucks, but then you wake up to this view and you realize why you went through the whole crazy process.

Mimicry Monday

A day upon which I steal M. Bouffant's schtick and post a pretty picture of clouds in lieu of anything else vaguely interesting.

The sunset got prettier about half an hour later, but by then I was driving and couldn't stop for a better picture. It was great, you'll just have to trust me.

Coasting

The Oregon coast is pretty when it's not pouring rain.

Rogue's main brewery is just behind and to the right of the main arch of the Yaquina Bay Bridge:

Rogue had their semi-annual garage sale this past weekend, which meant there were a variety of 12-packs of 22oz bottles of their beers for $20. Normally they're about $5 to $10 per bottle which is just fucking ridiculous; they're OK beers but not worth the prices they charge. At the garage sale prices it was a no-brainer to bring home a few cases.

Just beachy.

I'm back from vacation. I wish I wasn't.

What'd I miss? Nah, on second thought, don't tell me -- I'm sure it's all too depressing.

Damn nice sunset last night:

I really like the shadow cast by Mary's Peak (approx 4200' tall) upward onto the clouds.

Cheerful

Oh, wait, did I say "cheerful"? I meant "saddest fucking song ever" -- it's easy to get those mixed up.

These were taken at the same time of day and the same area as this one but are very different.

I know these camera-phone-snapshot posts are the blahg equivalents of meaningless small talk -- wait... I guess that's pretty much this entire blahg. Meh, whatevs.

Anyway, it's very nice to see the sun again -- hoping it lasts through the weekend.

Not all that bad of a way to start Friday.

Next week when I'm waiting for the bus at the same "time" it will somehow really be an hour "later" and I'll miss this view. I wish we had DST either all the time, or never. Make up your mind, time! Stop being all wishy-washy and undecided. Sheesh.
