The title is a great lyric from the title track of the new punk/country album Mayberry by one of my all-time favorite local bands I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In The House.
Here, have a listen, if the links to this site work:

I Can Lick Any SOB In The House – King James
Or y'know, just buy the damn thing, it's only $5.99 on emusic or you can spend more for it at CD Baby if you don't have an emusic subscription.
They don't have any ute oobs up yet of songs from the new album, but here's an acoustic version of the referenced song they recorded at Couch by Couchwest:
Updated: Dammit, the song links are all dead now, go figure. Just preview the song at emusic. Fuckit, here are some conciliatory videos from older albums:
done, boss!
ReplyDeleteAnd? Whadjathink?
DeleteBeen listening to it all mixed in with all the other new Summerfest music to date, so haven't focused on it...
DeleteOK, now I listened, I like it. More than a bit related to Gaslight Anthem.
DeleteBut if you like that, you should check out The Championship, that I linked to on the Summerfestblog. Definitely in the same wheelhouse.
Cool, will do. Hopefully they're on emusic, I've got credits to spend.
Deleteyes they are, but their bandcamp page also allows their first album download for free.
DeleteYep they are. $3.92 for their "High Feather" album, downloaded, listening now.

DeleteIt's good to pay for music.
Good stuff. Kinda reminded me a little bit of some of Greg Brown's stuff and also maybe a bit of James McMurtry.
Thanks.
It's good to pay for music.\
DeleteI agree, but the bandcamp setup is directly from the band. They'd rather offer their first album for free to get the music out there, than go through the hassle of printing up more copies. Their merch girl assured me it was OK.
I bought their other three albums at the show for $15. bargain!
DeleteCool, just downloaded that first album too. Emusic only had the one album. Thanks again!
DeleteI think the other 2 are available through bandcamp for a "pay what you'd like" model.
Deletethe massive serial linkfail was pretty entertaining, though.
ReplyDeleteYes, that was delightful.
