Somebody once said "A university faculty is 4000 egoists with a common parking problem." and I thought that was pretty apt.
Biking around here is usually pretty good, once everybody stops being so damn fidgety and pays a little bit of attention. We have bike lanes everywhere, and people generally avoid the sidewalks while biking. Cars aren't allowed in the main parts of campus either, which helps. They actually planned on disallowing freshmen from parking in any of the student lots at all this year, but have delayed that plan another year while they build another dorm to house them all.
We're going through Homecoming weekend and we have friends in the college ghetto - they stocked up on bread, parkas, smoke detectors, no navigating this weekend...
Naturally, we drove there last night. Cuz I am dumbs.
Saturday was sportsball game day which means 40,000 drunk people wandering around our side of town. We holed up at home and avoided trying to go anywhere.
stop your whining. College move in was three weeks ago in our neighborhood. They STILL haven't learned how to drive in a city or parallel park.
ReplyDeleteBikes. hmpf. all of 'em ride on the sidewalk, like they're still seven. Won't get offa mah damn lawn, either.
FYBlooger eated my comment. Anyway:

DeleteIt's an old person's chance to give out incorrect advice. Not something to pass up lightly.
