This is a place for beer, politics and random geeky shit. Despite the name we are actualy not snobbish at all around here.
I may have never been more proud of an OSU alumnus than I am of astronaut Don Pettit:
I mean Linus Pauling never played Angry Birds In Spaaaaaace. Wotta loser.
Angry birds in space? It's been done before.
OMG! I absolutely adored Phoenix when I was a kid. I spent hours at the local convenience store playing that with my best friend. I evidently liked bird-based games because the only other one I spent as much time and money on was Joust.I see from that link that there it's available on Playstation 2 as part of a collection -- I'm going to track that down and proceed to waste copious amounts of time playing it. Thanks!
Thanks for your response over on Sadly, No, OBS. The job is actually at a biopharma, but in the IT side of the biz.I started out as a lab guy for a 30k bbl brewery out here in CO, so I follow your beer posts with interest. In biotech we keep the cells and toss the media, opposite of brewing, but the batch processing, transfering & filtration tech is basically the same (presuming the brewery could afford all platinum cured silicon gaskets, teflon diapraghm valves and enough stainless to plumb an aircraft carrier). My old Head Brewer went to UPS and got his start at Bridgeport, and always loved the NW. I'm hoping to like it as well.
Thanks for the comment Portland Bound -- I hope your interview goes well and that you enjoy it out here. I've been here my whole life and have had opportunities to move other places, but won't. The winters kind of suck, but everything else is pretty great.
By commenting here you're legally bound to buy me lots of yummy beer.
